Ian MacLeod, General Counsel

As general counsel at Teligence, Ian is responsible for all legal and corporate affairs of the company. He is a commercial lawyer with significant legal and business experience in commercial transactions, licensing, finance, mergers and acquisition, tax and employment concerns. Ian believes in bringing pragmatic and effective solutions to the organizations commercial relationships and strategic initiatives. His role ensures that he is actively involved in all aspects of the business and allows him to contribute his experience to the wide range of teams within Teligence. Ian has a BA (Economics) from the University of Western Ontario, an LLB from the University of British Columbia and has been a member of The Law Society of British Columbia since 1995. He began his legal career in Vancouver with a national firm, practicing corporate and commercial law for several years. In 2000 he followed his career objectives of getting closer to business by making the move to In-House Counsel with 360networks. While there he undertook several large telecommunications and public market transactions and was directly involved in the reorganization of 360networks. Ian moved to Vancouver from Ottawa in 1991 in order to get closer to Whistler and the big mountains. It was in the mountains that he met his wife, Julie and together they live on the North Shore where they are raising their young family to enjoy the outdoors. |
